God is Good
"Oh, how abundant is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you
and worked for those who take refuge in you, in the sight of the children of mankind! In the cover of your presence you hide them from the plots of men; you store them in your shelter
from the strife of tongues. Blessed be the Lord, for he has wondrously shown his steadfast love to me when I was in a besieged city. I had said in my alarm, “I am cut off from your sight.”
But you heard the voice of my pleas for mercy when I cried to you for help. Love the Lord, all you his saints! The Lord preserves the faithful but abundantly repays the one who acts in pride. Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord!"
When life is pleasant, we find praising God easy because His kindness is evident. But recognizing hardship as an expression of His care is hard. In difficult seasons of our life, we need to remind ourselves of these verses. It tells us that the Lord has stored up goodness for those who trust and obey Him.
If you feel He's only good when situations are to your liking, then you are misunderstanding His nature. Those who knew His character are able to see evidence of His goodness in all circumstances.
We live under the umbrella of Gods goodness. When situations and feelings tell you otherwise, rely on what you know. Throughout the day, look for signs of His loving care. As your perspective changes, then no matter which way you turn, you'll be able to see confirmations that HE is good.
